COOSAWATTEE RIVER
Try tubing on the Coosawattee River with Coosawattee River Tubing Company, located in the Eagle Mountain General Store at the Eagle Mountain entrance of the Coosawattee River Resort in Ellijay, Georgia. Enjoy a fun-filled 2-1/2 hour inner tube float down the Coosawattee River in the North Georgia Mountains.
$8.00 per person includes a tube, a life vest, and shuttle service to and from the river, changing rooms. Although reservations are optional. call to guarantee your tubing trip during the busy season.

CARTECAY RIVER
You can rent tubes or bring your own, canoes, kayaks, rafts, and funyaks for floating on the Cartecay River. The Cartecay River is a short drive across Ellijay on your way to Amicalola Falls State Park. Kayaks and canoes are available year round at Mountaintown Outdoor Expeditions nearby in Ellijay. The Cartecay River is safe for beginner and novice kayaking The Cartecay River has Class II and III whitewater.
Mountaintown Outdoor Expeditions also provides shuttle service, guides and instruction.

For multitudes of family fun, tube down the Cartecay River for an afternoon of cool fun. Ellijay Outfitters has New 1 and 2 person
sit-on-top kayaks for daily rentals, of tubes, and of course they have kayaks for rent. Come spend a great day
on the Cartecay River, with free parking and free river access.
Half the fun is the shuttle ride on a 1973 autographed school bus with an antique tag.

Lower Cartecay Road", go straight until you cross the river, parking on
the right
Access to the Cartecay River is upstream on Lower Cartecay Road off Highway 52 east. The float trip is 2.5 miles, on the Cartecay River until you take out at the Blackberry Falls covered bridge at Blackberry Mountain. The locations offer easy in and out access to the Cartecay River.

During the summer, tubing is a fun family activity on the Cartecay River in Ellijay.
Many opportunities and adventures are available for whitewater rafting, canoeing, kayaking and tubing in the North Georgia Mountains. Of course, River Deep Mountain High, is on Mountaintown Creek so there is no need to go far from your rental cabin for whitewater tubing and floating fun. However, if you desire to seek out other rivers, you won't have to go very far. For a thrilling adventure, we recommend an exciting whitewater rafting trip on the Ocoee River just a short drive away.

OCOEE RIVER RAFTING
The Ocoee River, located in Tennessee, only 12 miles outside of Blue Ridge, Georgia, was the site of the 1996 Olympics at the Ocoee Whitewater Center for kayaking and canoe events and continues to host numerous events, instruction, demonstrations and competitions. It's worth a visit to the Ocoee Whitewater Center to see all the exciting whitewater action. Guided whitewater rafting trips and kayaking for the experienced on Class III and IV rapids are available and will give you a thrill-seeking ride on the Ocoee River, spectacular scenery and possibly a cooling spray on a hot sultry summer days. The Toccoa River that flows through Blue Ridge Georgia becomes the Ocoee River at the Tennessee state line. Water releases from the Tennessee Valley authority provide for rafting on the Ocoee River but water releases are limited and sceduled. Plan ahead to book your whitewater rafting trip on the Ocoee River.

The Nantahala River is another whitewater rafting option 90-120 minute drive.
CHESTATEE AND ETOWAH RIVER
A short drive east of Ellijay to Dahlonega will take you to the Chestatee and Etowah Rivers for canoing, kayaking and tubing trips with Appalachian Outfitters.
