The petting zoo is geared for childen. The animals are not behind cages giving children an up close experience with farm animals. All the farm animals are gentle enough to be held and fed by hand. The barn is full with farm animals to be hugged and fed.
Hillcrest's children's playground is definitely popular with a giant 50 foot slide, smaller slides for little children, a great zip line. On your way to the Farmhouse Museum, ask to see the Moonshine Museum with several working stills.
Ride the Time Machine back in time to the early 1900's Not for the faint of heart, Hillcrest's Time Twister will transport you from present day life into the primitive 10 room Farmhouse Museum depicting life before electricity and other modern conveniences. You'll see wringer washers in the wash room, and country ham in the smokehouse.
The Moonshine Museum features numerous working stills,from fully copper to groundhogs. Feel the effects of the stout brew as you exit the Time Twister and back to present day 2007.

Amicalola Deer Park is a great place to have fun, to take a hike and to enjoy viewing the beautiful deer. When you visit Amicalola Deer Park, you are helping to create a place of sanctuary and help because all donations are used to rehabilitate injured, neglected and abused aniimals. Apple Pickin' Jubilee
Cagle's Dairy features hay rides. A wonderful opportunity to show your children a genuine working dairy farm. Educational Farm Tours for families, corn mazes in the fall, and so much fun for children. Cagle's Dairy features dairy tours and seasonal garden tours.
Cagle's Dairy Tour: Tours take about 1-1/2 hours
Highlights: Take a hay ride around the farm and see Ben Cagle and his Border Collie, Tib, herd the cows. Get a first-hand look at how a live cow is milked. When you visit the Processing Facility — learn how milk gets from the cow to the grocery store!
We're completely 'hands on' in the calf barn. You can feed cabbage to the baby calves and enjoy watching them suck good Cagle's Milk from a bottle. They love the attention they get from visitors. And after the hayride, you can stop to feed the goats -- and we have lots of them to feed!
They'll show you our Cow Subway and seasonal attractions on the farm along the hayride. At the end, you can stop off in Clayton & Estelle's Country Market for gifts and goodies.

Highlights: Take a summer hay ride around the farm, out to the lake, and up to Papa Albert's Garden. Watch the Cagle's dog(s), Tib or Kate, herd the Cagle cows. See baby calves being bottle fed, and get a first-hand look at how a live cow is milked.
Visit the Processing Facility — learn how milk gets from the cow to the grocery store! Spend a lazy summer afternoon playing 'yard games' out in the pasture. They'll open our Jumping Pillow for a minimum group size (additional fee). Drop into Clayton & Estelle's market for some refreshing snacks and see CowZart gifts and goodies.

Seasonal Garden Tours - Fall: Tours take about 1-1/2 hours
Highlights: Step back in time, to the days when farming was a way of life for most of our ancestors. Enjoy the traditional harvest season at Cagle's Dairy Farm. See how we feed our animals from the year's crops and learn how we get the farm ready for winter.
Take a hayride through the farm to the turnip and pumpkin patches. Visit their piggies at Squealer Field and see them race!
Stop off in Papa Albert's Garden to pick cotton, dig for potatoes or pull onions. Maybe they'll even show you where the ripe peanuts are hiding! They'll have scarecrows and corn stalks and hay stacks for lots of photo opportunities.
Perks:Take home a baby pumpkin and/or cotton boll or other garden veggie in the summer/fall.

The Black Forest Bear Park is an educational family exhibit located in the beautiful mountains of Helen, Georgia. The park hosts a bear exhibit, snake exhibit and the largest gift shop in Helen. Visitors may buy food trays that consist of sliced apples, lettuce and bread to feed the bears.
Burt's Pumpkin Farm and hayrides is open September 1-November 15.
Shields Ethridge Heritage Farm
The Shields-Ethridge Farm in Jefferson, Georgia is an outdoor historical museum.
The Farm is open to the public (by appointment) and has tours that highlight the Farm's historic buildings, including a cotton gin, blacksmith shop, fully-stocked commissary, wheat house, grist mill, and restored schoolhouse. All of these historic, agricultural buildings lie in their original location in 150 acres of historical farmland originally established in 1800.
Southern Tree Plantation feastures hay rides, pony rides, maze, petting zoo and so much more fun activities for kids. 4.7 miles south of Blairsville. Pumpkins, Hayrides, Petting Farm, Marshmallow Roasting, Mountain Crafts, Maze, Playground, Pony rides, Kids Train Ride. Available during selected weekends. Located in the heart of the North Georgia Mountains. You'll find all this at Southern Tree Plantations "Fall Fun on the Farm" event. Southern Tree Plantation is a working farm currently growing thousands of pumpkins and Christmas trees.
